When your anger alarm rings, learn to rethink and recheck
Here comes to the third chapter about "anger".
How does "wrong perception" cause an anger?
Have you ever heard the idiom
"Don't judge a book by its cover."?
You will never know what something or someone is truly like,
by just looking at that person or thing's appearance.
You may have misunderstood if you only believe what you see or what you hear,
because perception varies depending on past experience,
cultural background, personal interest and beliefs.
Then how can we improve our perception?
You can improve your perception by developing a better listening skill,
being aware of your bias and doing more research
to recheck how accurate your perception is.
It's worth making an effort to take a closer look
so to avoid wrong perception,
which leads to anger.
But what if your anger is already developed?
Just because your anger is present doesn't mean
the capacity to love is not there.
When your anger alarm rings, make sure you take it slow,
rethink before you say something because you cannot take it back,
and hold on any decisions that you have at the moment.
My friend sent me a picture of various cartoon quotes.
When I first saw it, I said that's so cartoon
(I do not have interests in cartoon.)
I already judged a book by its cover.
I took a quick look on it,
just so I knew what it was really about.
No matter how I feel about those cartoon quotes,
At least, I could tell my friend that I did give it my attention.
It doesn't matter if I agree or not.
The point is I learned to turn the pages.
