Culture is beautiful

I had a talk with a new friend today. He asked me about my life in USA.
He wondered if there was any culture shock for me and how it was going.
This brought me to the topic "Culture".

People in different nations can differ in the behaviors and cultures.
Cultural difference around the world may shock you
but if you look in the great ways, it could benefit you as well.

There is one dominant culture in the States that I really like,
and I think this is somewhat Thai culture should pick up too.
The thing that I am falling in love here is "equality",
which means you are equal in rights, status, races and advantages.

I had a meeting with one of the management team today.
We went over the duties that he needed my help on,
but I disagreed on some of the points he was mentioning.
If I were in Asian countries, I believed the only thing I could do
was just to follow his instructions.
But because I am working in the States now,
I told him what I thought and also shared my ideas that
I believed it could be better. He was very open.
He listened and we discussed.

Asian cultures teaches us to respect people who are older than us.
Our culture is so beautiful.
I love how politely Asian people talk and act to their seniors.
But sometimes, they are so stick to it that if you say something,
they can see you as a disrespectful person.
In terms of sharing ideas/thought, I think it's better if we could be more opened.
Do not get someone wrong if they speak up.
They might just want to share their ideas.
And for the younger, please also make sure you speak up properly and politely.

 Culture is beautiful.
And it will be more beautiful if we mix all good parts of them together.
